Uncle Bud（一位奉献者）告诉了我们一个故事。

许多年前，有个年迈的pujari在一个叫Shantipur的地方服务。（Advaita Acarya显现的地方）他注意到有个老人常常来到temple，坐在后面一动不动几个小时。这位老人拿着念珠袋念颂Hare Krsna，他一边专心念，一边不断地掉眼泪。然后，有几年的时间这位老祭司就见不到老人了。然而有一天，老人又出现了，又坐在temple后面。这一次，老人是sanyassi的打扮。这位老人还是象从前一样，不断地念颂，不断地落泪。后来，老祭司上前跟这位sanyassi交谈。他向他顶拜，自我介绍，然后问这位sanyassi的名字。他也问起老人家为什么哭。老sanyassi说：“我的Guru让我去作一件绝对做不到的服务。于是我不停地向Krsna哭泣，让他给我勇气去试一下。再过几天我就要坐船去美国传教了。我不知道在那里我会怎么样？我的Guru叫我向西方讲英语的国家传教。”

就在不久前一位ISKCON的奉献者前往Shantipur的一处temple,也就是Advaita Acarya显现的地方，见到了老祭司，给了他一本回归神首杂志。这位老人家从来没见过回归神首杂志。但当他看到杂志中Srila Prabhupada的照片时，他就告诉了这位坐在temple后面不断念颂，哭泣的老人的故事。原来这位老人就是Srila Prabhupada。这就是Srila Prabhupada启程去美国前的感受。这就是Srila Prabhupada是怎样准备去传教的，这就是为什么Srila Prabhupada会取得成功。他既不是什么大作家，也不是伟大的管理者，也不是有钱有势的人。他愿意去试一下Guru吩咐他去作的事，他泪流满面念颂Hare Krsna，以此接近Krsna,向他哭诉，跟Krsna有联系，依赖他，皈依他，与他联谊，去明白Krsna想让他干什么，想让他怎么干。Hare Krsna是Srila Prabhupada的意义，Srila Prabhupada的目标。

Uncle Bud told us that one old pujari from a place called Shantipur where Advaita Acarya appear was working in a temple there many years ago.  He used to notice one old man coming a sitting in the back of the temple for hours and hours.  The old man was chanting Hare Krsna with Japa beads and he was chanting so intensely that he was weeping and weeping.   

Then, for many years the pujari didn't see the old man at all until one day, the old man came to sit in the back of the temple again and this time the man was dressed as a sanyassi. Again the old man was chanting and chanting and weeping as he chanted.

Finally, the pujari went to talk to the sanyassi.  He offered his respects, introduced himself, and asked the sanyassi his name. He also asked him why he was crying. 

The old sanyassi said:  "My Guru has given me an impossible service and I'm just crying to Krsna to help me to have the courage to try to do it.  In a few days I will sail on a ship to America to preach and I don't know what I will find there?  My Guru wants me to preach Krsna consciousness to the English speaking people in the West."

Just recently one ISKON devotee went to Shantipur to the temple near where Advaita Acarya appeared and met the pujari and gave him a BTG magazine.  The pujari never saw a BTG before and as soon as he saw Srila Prabhupada's picture in the magazine he told the devotee the story of the old sanyassi chanting for hours and weeping in the back of the temple.  That was Srila Prabhupada.  That was how Srila Prabhupada felt before he came to America.   That was how Srila Prabhupada was preparing himself to preach and that is why Srila Prabhupada is successful.  He was not a great writer or a great manager or a wealthy or powerful person materially but he was willing to try to do as his Guru was asking him to do and he chanted Hare Krsna for hours with burning tears as a means to reach out to Krsna,  to cry out to Krsna,   to connect with Krsna,  to depend on Krsna,  to surrender to Krsna,  to associate with Krsna,  to understand what Krsna what Krsna wanted and how Krsna wanted it done.  Hare Krsna is Srila Prabhupada's means and Srila's Prabhupada's goal.
